Comfortable, very spacious, two-floor independent house for vacations in the middle of a 1200 m² large fruit and flower garden -250 m away from a slightly descending sand beach which can be easily reached by walking or by car- great panoramic view of the sea and mountains.

The villa FILARETON consists of one two-floor 5-room apartment and of one 2-room apartment on the ground floor, which can be completely divided from each other by a connecting door. This way either only a 5-room apartment can be rented, or both apartments together. (In case that only the 5-room apartment is rented, the 2-room apartment remains empty.)

5 -room -apartment on two floors

Basement: About 40 m2 large, comfortable living room with a large fire place: large table, chairs, two additional beds, also a new piano can be brought in, if arranged. Spacious kitchen with a separate entrance from the garden: electric oven, refrigerator. Inside and outside stairs to the upper floor (inside stairs: bright wooden stairs from the living room; outside stairs: spiral stairs from the garden up to the veranda covered by a roof).
1st floor:
- four bedrooms: two rooms with a sea view (each with one double bed),one room
(with two single beds), on one side with the exit to the covered veranda (with outside
stairs to the garden), on the other side there is a door connecting to the winter garden
(living veranda with large glass windows)
- winter garden (with two single beds). From the single-bed-room and from the winter
garden: view to the mountains.

In case you want to be completely alone in the house, this apartment can also remain unoccupied for the period of your visit, if desired.

Equipment in the house:
Telephone, warm water, central heating, bed clothes incl.
Frotee towels to be brought by yourself, please. The renting is assumed for the period from Sunday to Sunday, other desired dates object to negotiation. All rooms are very comfortable and furnished predominantly with wooden furniture elements, the rooms are fairly high.

Garden:
In the 1200 m² large garden grow roses and jasmin bushes, orange-, lemon-, grapefruit-,fig-, and granat apple trees. The fruits can be taken and eaten on your own wish. Beach-chairs and sun umbrellas can be used for free charge.

Shopping opportunities:
Some 300 m behind the house is the beginning of the village Rododaphni (also called Akoli). The nearest tavern is 300 m far from here. The shopping facilities in the village are ca. 7 minutes walking distance.

Traffic connections:
To be reached easily by taxi, bus or train from the airport Athens (210 km) or Araxos/Patras (70km) or from Patras, 30 km (if you come by ferry boat from Italy).

A new little two-floor villa directly on the sea shore.
The owner lives in the basement and rents the upper floor of his comfortably furnished house, which has a separate entrance by an outside staircase. There is one bedroom with a double bed, one living room with sleeping facilities (for two-three persons), one kitchen with a 2-plates-E-oven, and a shower bathroom. Both rooms lead to a ca. 18 m² windergarden, with a seaside view.

The large garden, which reaches to the sand beach, offers shadowy pergolas and fig- trees, as well as a meadow for playing and relaxing in the sun. A wood-charcoal-grill and garden furniture are also available. To the complex belongs also one shadowy private parking lot.

Ca. 300 m away a little village is situated, with its taverns and coffee-houses. Lampiri is situated 25 km east from Patras

3.2.2007 The mountain house Filokalon has been renovated in 2006 and gives the guests the possibility to make the most of the Greek mountain world on Peloponnesus in addition to the nearby places of interest. The peacefulness of the mountains is appealing mostly to the citizens of large metropolitan areas. The day temperatures in summer are in the range between 25 and 32 degrees Centigrade.

The house was built around 1875, an object for enthusiasts on the altitude of 1100m., has been placed directly on the bottom of the breathtaking Mt. Helmos (2300), known for springs of the mythological river Styx.

At these springs, vowed the ancient Greek gods. Achilles was bathed by his mother here, in order to achieve immortality. Because she held him by the heal, he was vulnerable in that place, which later became a cause for his demise. During Trojan War he was shot by an arrow in his heal, and died.

This place is meant for people who seek dry climate, peace and relaxation. One of Greece’s most beautiful mountain ranges gives a number of activities for the spare time, such as: walks through the mountain forests, all the way to the springs of Styx (5 hours return trip on foot), possibility to bathe in a river or I the mountain lake. (Water temperature 20-25C, marching time 2 hours, 15 minutes by car)

The house has been built on a minor slope, in front of a small, charming valley, in the middle of a natural garden with small cherry trees, 2 swinging seats, a living room, three sleeping rooms, including one with an open chimney and second one with a small winter room attached a small kitchen and shower with toilet. On the lower level, there is a larger kitchen with 4 cooking plates and oven, additional shower and toilet, and a winter room with panoramic view of the valley.

Sleeping capacity is up to 8 people. It is possible to rent only the studio below for two people for 450 Euro per Week, or the whole house between 750.- Euro and 1050.- Euro depending on the amount of guests.

In the two taverns of the idyllic village of Paristera, as well as those of the village Messorougi, one can find very good meals. Specialties include mountain lambs, fresh water fish, as well as wild growing mountain spices and beans. Other villages in the are include Agridi, Chalkianika, Varvara, Bounarianika, and are between 1 an 5 km away from the location of the house. The biggest one is Zarouchla and is shown on the maps of Peloponnesus.

The village Paristera is 30 km south of Akrata, a city on the coast 30 km east of Egion. The house is in a central position and the guests can reach all the important places on foot. It can be rented as a whole, or as two separate apartments.

The whole house is heated with a central heating system based on oil. An additional storeroom in the upper part of the garden is available.

Musicians wiling to spend time there can rent a Cello, an upright bass or an electric piano for an additional fee. We will gladly organize a concert for you in the village. A special attraction in the summer is a guided tour to the springs of the river Styx and to the river Khratys, where it is possible to bathe.

Original, truly Greek cuisine, hiking, roaming the mountains, bathing in the lake, biking, skiing in the Mt. Helmos ski centre by Kalavrita, available also from Paristera upon completion of the new road in 2007. In summer 2007 one can drive to the top of Mt. Helmos (2300m.) and than 12km to the second largest observatory in Europe named “Aristarchos”. The first 6 km of the trip is on hard road, the other half is on soft. Until the end of 2007 the whole stretch should be hardened. To make sure, please contact us.

Arrival:
The village Peristera is 30 kilometer (South) far away from Akrata, which is in a 30 km (East) distance to Egion/Selianitika or 60 km to Patras. With own car, or bus, from Athens 185km, direction Patras. 60 km before Patras change direction to Akrata. From Akrata with own car, or taxi, direction Zarouchula (30 Euro with the Taxi) until Paristera. The mountain lake Tsivlos is on the same road 10 km bevor Peristera.The other villages (Agridi, Chalkianika, Barbara, Bounarianika) are in 1-5 km distance. The biggest one is called Zarouchla, which is registered in the map of Peloponnes.
