1) car/bus/train – ferry
A good recommendation for all travellers - singles,families and groups - is to travel to an Italian port by car, train or bus and from there to take the ferry across to Greece. Ferries leave from Venice, Ancona, Bari or Brindisi for Patras everyday. For example, the passage takes 19 hours from Ancona and a return-ticket costs 60.- Euros per person (students: ca. 50.- Euros). From Patras to Selianitika
After the ferry passage to Patras you can take a taxi or a bus. There is a bus which leaves from the landing place. It costs about 2Euros and takes about 45 minutes. Taxis cost about 18.50 Euros. You can do the same trip by train. From Zurich, Munich to Ancona costs about 140Euros (only 70Euros with a railway card 50 Euros).

Buses to Selianitika
leave every hour (direction Egion). Price: 2.50 Euros. Duration: about 45
minutes.
Further buses in the evening: 7:15pm; 8:30pm; 9:15pm. The buses leave at the
KTEL - station near the port.
The last bus leaves at 10:15pm in the evening.
by train
You can also go to
Selianitika by (slow)train. Departures: 12.00am; 3.35pm and 2.20am.
All trains are going into direction of Egion, stop in Selianitika.
Duration: about 45 minutes.
Price: about 1.20 Euros, except the night train at 2.20: about 3.- Euros.
2) travel by plane
There are really cheap flights on the internet. Flights from Duesseldorf, Berlin, Munich or Basel cost between 100 and 350Euros.
From Athens Airport to Selianitika
Taxi – Bus – Taxi
Bus: Every 30 minutes bus nr. 93 runs directly from the Airport to the Kiffisou bus station. Duration: about 50 minutes.
Taxi:
Take a
taxi to Kiffissou/ Peloponnese. Do not pay more than about 30 Euros,
depending on the luggage and traffic.
Duration: about 40 min.
The
“Kiffissou” station is open all night. Take the bus to Patras via Egion.
Daytime, Buses are leaving every full and half hour.
Buy a ticket for Egion (written: Aigio) for about 13.- Euros) and take it to
the Patras/Egion stop.
Bus seats are numbered so check the number on your ticket. The last bus for
Egion leaves at 10:00pm.
Duration is 2:10 to reach Egion where the bus leaves the motorway to drive
into town. Get off the bus there.
To go to
Selianitika,
turn left from the bus station, direction city centre and follow the street
(not uphill) for 300m.
There is a triangular square and the bus stop is next to a fish shop (there
is also a cake shop at the opposite side).
Buy your ticket for Selianitika (1 Euro) at the kiosk (or at the bus for
1.20 Euro). Buses going to Siria (written: ZHPIA) and
Kamare (KAMAPAI) also stop in Selianitika. This is a 20 minute trip. The
last bus leaves at 10:00pm, Saturday/Sunday at 9:00pm.
At Sunday the buses are running every 2 hours, last one at 9:00pm. Get off
at the first stop in Selianitika in front of the church.
Take the first street on your right and go down to the beach, turn left and
after passing many restaurants and stores,
you will come to a sign, Hellenikon Idyllion (it’s at a green fence).You
have arrived, welcome!
At Egion, there are also taxis at the bus stop, to go to Selianitika (about 8 Euros).
If you arrive at the airport about 9:00/10:15 pm,
Take 10:48 pm from the airport the “Proastikos” train direction “Neratjiotissa” (arrival 11:27pm).From “Neratjiotissa” with Proastikos train direction “ Kiato”(arrival 12:44 am). From “Kiato” 12:52 am direction “Selianitika” (arrival 2:15 am” . The ticket from Athens airport to Selianitika kosts 12.10 Euro. Children until 18 have 50% Reduction and people after 60 have 25%-50% reduction.
If you arrive at the airport between 10:15 and 12:00 pm,
take the
metro from the airport (change at Omonia station) to Thissio station. Then
follow the street for 5 minutes on the left side,
along “Archaia Agora – ancient market” until you see the hotel “Erechteion”
(on the right, near the café “Athinaion Politeia”
in a side street, named Flamarion). Here you will get a single room for
about 40 Euros, a double room for about 55 Euros and
a three-bed room for about 70 Euros (incl. breakfast). The stated prices are
effective from the middle of October to the end of July,

In the morning you go on by metro from Thissio station (change at Omonia
place) to Stathmos Larissis. Get off there, go through the
bridge and take the train to Peloponnes station (Egion/ Patras) on the other
side. Express-trains from Athens are leaving at 6:06 am,
-all switch in Kiato -every hour until 23.06 pm (arrival Selianitika 2.15
am) Duration: about 3 hours Athens -Selianitika
Trains, which stop at Selianitika are running at 8.06:am, 12:06 pm and
13:06pm,18.06 pm and 23.06pm (arrival Selianitika 2.15 am).
If you arrive in Athens between 12:00pm and 4:00am, you take a taxi to get
to hotel or you wait at the airport until the first bus is running
(look at description “by bus”).
Station
Selianitika – Hellenikon Idyllion
Follow
the street for 70 m and take the next street on your right (after the
bridge) down to the beach. After 150 m you will have
to cross the intersecting road, follow the narrow street for 100 m down to
the shore place. Walk along the promenade.
After a white tiled place and many restaurants and cafés you will come to a
sign, Hellenikon Idyllion (it’s at a green fence).

Return to Athens:
From Egion the first bus leaves at 3 am, the next one at 6:30am. From then
on buses leave nearly every half hour to Athens,
Kiffissou bus station. There the busses are running to the airport every
half hour.
Only by
taxi
A taxi from the airport to Selianitika costs 150 Euros (we will gladly do
the reservation for you). For a plus of 8 Euros per hour,
you can visit the Acropolis or the national museum of Athens during your
trip. Same prices and conditions apply for the return.
Chartered bus
A bus for 30 persons charges 350 Euros, for 50 persons: 450 Euros, for
68-75: 700 Euros.
A visit to the Acropolis and National Museum can be included if wanted.
From the airport Araxos to Selianitika
by bus
There are running
buses from Araxos to Kato Achaia (bus station is about 1500 m from the
airport, direction Kato Achaia,
station “Oxo Kerbessi”). During the week: 8:30am, 11:30am, 1:30pm, 3:45pm,
8:00pm. Saturday: 11:30am, 1:00pm, 3:45pm, 8:00pm;
Sunday: 3:45pm, 8:00pm. From Kato Achaia to Patras the buses are leaving
every half hour, the last one at 11:00pm.
From Patras you can get to Selianitika by bus or by train (See the
description above).
by taxi - bus – train/bus
From
Araxos (40km east of Patras) you take a taxi to the bus stop (Stathmos
Leoforion) Kato Achaia. Price: about 15.-Euros.
From there you take the bus to Patras. The buses leave every hour and
sometimes every half hour. Price: 2 Euros. The last bus from
Kato Achaia to Patras leaves at 11.00pm. From Patras to Selianitika you can
go by bus or train (as previously described ).
by taxi - train
You can
take a taxi from the airport to the train station (Stathmos Trenou) in Kato
Achaia. Price: about
15.-Euros.
There you take the train to Selianitika. Departure: 8:30am, 11:20am and
2:05am. Duration: about 1,5hours. Price: about 1,80 Euros.
by taxi -bus
Or you take a taxi
directly to the bus stop "KTEL" in Patras. Price for the taxi:
about30.-Euros. Buses to Selianitika leave every hour.
The last bus leaves at 10:15pm and the last train to Selianitika leaves at
2:20am.

Or you take a taxi from the airport directly to Selianitika. Price: about 45.-Euro. Duration: about 1hour.
From the airport Zakynthos
by taxi/ferry/taxi – taxi/bus
From there to the port it
is 5 km and a cab costs about 5 Euros. The departures of the ferry to
Kilini/ Peloponnes are 5:30am, 8:.00am,
10:15am, 11:30am, 1:00pm, 3:15pm, 6:00pm, 8:00pm.
The transfer costs 5 Euros and 25 Euros for the cab and lasts 1 hour and 15
minutes.
We can order a cab for you when you arrive in Kilini. It will cost about
65Euros and the trip lasts about 1 hour and 15 minutes.
You can also go by taxi
to the bus stop KTEL in Zakynthos and from there take the bus (direction:
Athens). Departure times are 5:00am,
7:30am, 11:00am, 2:55pm, 5:30pm, 7:00pm. Buy a ticket to Selianitika. The
ticket costs about 8,80 Euros and the transfer lasts about
2h30.The bus stops in Selianitika in front of the petrol station “Shell”.
From there you can order a cab which brings you to Hellenikon Idyllion
